SCHENECTADY – Bernard Lupi, Sr., 69, died on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Ellis Hospital after a long illness.
Bernie was born in Schenectady on December 10, 1947 a son of the late Armand and Doris (King) Lupi. He honorably served his country in the US Marines. Bernie worked briefly for the General Electric Company and then as a maintenance custodian for SCCC, retiring in 2000 after 30 years of devoted service. Bernie was a great father, brother and grandfather. He was funny, loving, generous, extremely caring and had tons of friends. He was known to many as the "Godfather" at Mike's Hotdogs.
He was predeceased by his siblings, Linda Wells and Armand "Arnie" Lupi, Jr., in 2011.
He is survived by loving children, Tammy Wilkenson, Cindy Lupi, Bernard Lupi, Jr., Terri Lupi and Timothy Lupi; his devoted sister, Gloria (Edward) Mulyca; grandchildren, Cassidy, James and Aurian; former wife Theresa Keeler and her daughter Sarah Morelli; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on Monday at 1 pm at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, with Fr. Dominic Isopo, officiating. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Monday from 11 to 1 pm.
