Stained Glass Emblem

ROTTERDAM – Brian S. Aunchman, 47, a man of great humility, respect and integrity, entered into eternal life at his residence on Friday, February 2, 2018, a day after being diagnosed with the Influenza B Virus.
Brian was born on May 5, 1970, in Schenectady a son of the late Marvin and Dorothy (Roy) Aunchman. After a fun and loving childhood, between New York and California, Brian attended Jordan High and graduated from Buena Park High School in Buena Park, CA. He enrolled at Fullerton Community College, in Liberal Arts before transferring to Long Beach College pursuing a Nursing career. Brian worked as a lab tech at Ellis Hospital and later for Davis Vision.
Although there were physical limitations which challenged Brian, his insight into maintaining a positive thought process was evident in the manner in which he not only lived his life, but how he effected those he loved so dearly. He was a man of surprising talents and interests. He expressed himself through his art, especially proud of his recent piece on display at Brookside Museum. Brian attended Living Resources, was a member of The Men's Group and excelled in advanced art classes. Of all of his accomplishments, Brian was most honored to have been confirmed at St. Luke's Church, through its RCIA Program. He spoke freely about his love of God, his faith and Christianity. He was a communicant of St. Luke's Parish.
Brian is survived by his beloved and devoted companion of 18 years, Michael E. Marsello, of Rotterdam; brothers, Louis, Marvin and David Aunchman; Keith, Erich, Anthony, Codey and Zachary Aunchman; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Marsello and Patricia Thomas; longtime friends and caregivers, Ambika Balkisson and Kristina Hines; his four legged buddies, Oz and Marley and many dear and loving friends.
Services will be held Wednesday at 10AM at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, with Rev. Father Dominic Isopo, officiating. Entombment will follow in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3 to 7 pm.
The family requests NO flowers be sent. Memorial contributions may be made in Brian's memory to 'Brian S. Aunchman Foundation' care of the funeral home.
