Rotterdam – Mrs. Doris Gregorini Bach, age 90, formerly of Dover Drive died on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at Ellis Hospital.

Doris was born in Schenectady on June 24, 1926. The daughter of Ennio and Pierina (Carbonardi) Gregorini her stepfather Mario Calvani died in 1934. She was raised on Van Vranken Avenue. Her mother ran a small store on Front Street. An attendant of Nott Terrace High School Doris was married on August 12, 1945 to Hugo A. Bach Sr. in Yorktown, Virginia. A navy wife Doris lived on bases in Hawthorne, Nevada and on the island of Saipan in the northern Marianna Islands.

Upon discharge from the service Doris and her husband settled in the town of Rotterdam. A stay at home mom Doris went to work at the Big N and later K Mart for a number of years to help with college expenses for her three children. A person of faith she was a communicant of St. Gabriel's Church.

Doris enjoyed doing some sewing and embroidery work. She was always the go to person for any and all types of alterations for many years. She was perhaps best remembered for her famous breaded veal, homemade pasta and spaghetti sauce dish. Other foods like her ice box cake and crème puffs became a tradition for so many special occasions.

Predeceased by her parents, step-father and husband after 40 years of marriage in 1985. Doris also experienced the loss of her sisters and their spouses Rita (Peter DeFonce), Josephine (Tony Furlani) as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Doris leaves behind her memory, a collection of family anecdotes and three generations of survivors that include her children Hugo Jr. (Brenda), Melody (Gary) Reese, Raymond (Paulette), grandchildren Jason (Sara) Bach, Adam (Laura) Bach, Nancy (Mark )McBride, Christine (Jason) Gregory, Joseph and Melissa Bach. She also leaves behind great grandchildren Jackson and Cooper Bach, Jurgen, Tristan and Hagan Bach. Ashley, Ayla and Alyssa McBride and Lincoln Gregory.

The entire family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Ellis Hospital and Dr. J. Buddenhagen for their dedication and compassionate care.

Services will be held Wednesday morning at 10am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, Schenectady. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
