SCHENECTADY – Henry D. "Hank" Rotundo, 84, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, after an extended illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Hank was born on December 21, 1932 a son of the late Constantine and Santina (Cashera) Rotundo. He was a 1951 graduate of Nott Terrace High School and was a pin setter at VV lanes. Hank was a self taught Master Drywall Taper, working in the construction industry his entire life. He worked for VanPatten Builders in Clifton Park and many area homeowners. Hank was a colorful character, loved by all. Music was an integral part of his daily life, he played the harmonica and the drums and could quote lyrics, names of bands and the year a song broke. He was an accomplished bowler, bowling in the St. Anthony's Holy Name, Mt. Pleasant and GE Leagues. He played the ponies, scratch off's and was a kind and gentle pet lover. Every dog Hank owned he named "Prince". He was a faithful communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
Hank's family would like to extend their deepest and sincere thanks to the all nursing staff on Union Station at the Glendale Home.
Hank was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosalind "Roz" DeCrosta Rotundo, whom he married on September 8, 1956; siblings, Sylvia Navaretta, Louise Buonome and Dominick Rotundo.
He is survived by his loving and devoted daughters, Cynthia and Dominick Capobianco, of Rotterdam and Pamela and Gary Kelly, of Niskayuna; his grandchildren, whom he loved and cherished unconditionally, Christopher Capobianco, of Miami, FL, Gregg and Valerie Kelly, of Charlton and Scott and Anna Kelly, of Saratoga Springs; adoring great-grandchildren, Madeline, Luca, Genievra, Isla and Alba Kelly; a sister, Antoinette Valentino, of Schenectady and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon on Thursday at St. Anthony's Church.
Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Hank's memory to the Glendale Home, Activities Department, 59 Hetcheltown Road, Glenville, NY 12302.
