BOCA RATON, FL – Joseph Albert Ferrara, 87, passed away on September 16, 2015 at his home in Boca Raton, FL.
Joseph was born on October 1, 1927 to Joseph and Gilda Ferrara in Schenectady. He served his country during WWII as a Seabee in the US Navy. After being honorably discharged from the Navy, he attended UCLA in Westwood CA then the University of Miami Law School and became a member of the Florida Bar in 1956. He served as a Deputy Court Clerk in Dade County for about 18 months gaining experience on the operation of the court and has been practicing law for the following 38 years. His law practice was mostly automobile liability and insurance law cases, and also torts, damage actions and Workmen's Compensation. He has served as both attorney for the defense and the plaintiff. He had much experience with arbitration proceedings and was certified as a Circuit Mediator in 1995.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Frances; his caregiver Marie Dachoute and many friends. He was predeceased in death by his brother Tony.
A graveside service with Full Military Honors, will be held on Wednesday at St John the Baptist Cemetery, Brandywine Avenue, Schenectady at 11am with Father Pagones, officiating.
