SCHOHARIE – Lois J. Lloyd, 71, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Ellis Hospital, after a brief illness, surrounded by her children.
Lois was born in Argusville, NY, on May 27, 1946 a daughter of Evelyn (Eckerson) Hatalsky and the late Michael Hatalsky. She graduated from Sharon Springs High School and worked as a waitress at Borealis Restaurant in Howe Cave. Lois began working for New York Telephone Co., as an operator, with her continuing desire of learning, she worked throughout the company in various positions and with much dedication, training and hard work, she retired with Verizon as a maintenance administrator in the Repair Division. An incredible independent woman, Lois raised her children with love, a wonderful sense of humor and quick wit. An accomplished artist, Lois also had a passion for photography, reading, roller skating, rock and roll, and all God's creatures, especially her horses.
She was predeceased by her father; husband, Stephen Lloyd in 1998 and a brother Michael S. Hatalsky.
Lois is survived by her mother, Evelyn Brown, of Cobleskill, devoted and loving children, Paula Kniskern and Anne Vandenburgh, of Charlton and Jason M. Scott, of Burlington, VT; siblings, Sharlene (Jerry) Revette, of Central Square, NY, Susan (Al) Sellick, of Berne, NY, Nancy Brown, of Troy and Barry Brown, of Cobleskill, a niece and nephew; and her four legged companions, Perry, Jack and Jilly; and many dear friends.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11 am at the Lappeus Funeral Home, 32 Park St, Sharon Springs. Interment will follow in the Hatalsky family plot in Slate Hill Cemetery, Sharon Springs, NY.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Lappeus Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm.
