PATTERSONVILLE – Nancy Ann Nydam, 58, passed away on August 4, 2016 at Saratoga Hospital after a short illness.
Nancy was born on July 20, 1958 in Walton, NY, a daughter of the late Peter and Ruth (More) Nydam, and spent her younger years on the family farm in N. Franklin. As a young adult, Nancy lived in Sidney, NY and in 2006 located to the Minard House in Pattersonville, NY. She attended Princeton Ridge Day Program where she had many friends and especially enjoyed the book club, selling pretzels, ringing the Christmas bells with the Salvation Army, musicals, movies, shopping and getting her nails done. Above all, family was most important to Nancy. She took pleasure in all of the family functions and watching her family circle grow. She especially loved the time spent with her sisters going to musicals, symphonies and long rides in the car, just enjoying the presence of her family. Nancy's love of life was evident in the manor she lived. She had an easy smile; advocated for maintaining relationships with family and friends and taught people the importance of enjoying life. She taught by example every day and was a friend to anyone that needed a smile. Of the many accolades Nancy achieved in her life, she was most proud of her relationships, family and competing in the Miss New York Wheelchair competition.
