ROTTERDAM – Nyola 'Nikki' Flory, 91, of Wavell Road, passed away Saturday evening after a long illness.
Born August 19, 1925, in Carthage, Jefferson County, NY, Nikki was the daughter of the late Howard E. and Aleta Bell Pierce Lashaw. After her birth her family returned to Schenectady, graduating from Mt Pleasant High School, class of January 1944. Nikki work for General Electric Co for 16 years. She chose to be a homemaker and raised her children. Returning to the work place, Nikki accepted a position with the Civil Office of the Schenectady County Sheriff's Department in 1974, working in various capacities until 2013.
Nikki was predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Joseph L. Flory, Sr.; her son, Joseph L. Flory, Jr.; siblings, Norma Regan, Janice Mazzone, and Howard Lashaw.
Survivors include her daughters, Diane (Gerhard) Obeldobel of Sharon Springs; Karen (Ralph) McGibbon of Columbus, NC and Cheryl Treacy of Amsterdam; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. In addition, Nikki is survived by her sister, Joyce Schelde of Watervliet; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street. Interment will follow at 1 pm in Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 5 pm.
As per Nikki's request, no flowers to be sent.
