SCHENECTADY – Peter Albino Coppola, 74, a lifelong resident of Goosehill, passed away at home Tuesday after a brief illness.
Peter was born in Schenectady on November 19, 1942 a son of the late Alexander and Helen Ruscitti Coppola. He was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Gibbons High School and received an Associate's degree from Spencer Institute as a court stenographer. Peter worked ten years at Two Guys Department Store; Ellis Hospital, retiring after 20 years of service and an additional ten years at Walmart. He had strong work ethics; was proud of his Italian heritage; and devoted to his family and friends. Peter was a former member of the Sons of Italy Lodge and a lifelong communicant of St. Anthony's Church.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Waldorph Coppola, whom he married in 1995 and his step-children, Jessica Montanye and Michael Grugan; cousins, Tony and Sharon Memoli and dear friends, Larry and Carla Magiera.
Services will be held on Friday at 10 am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union Street, with Fr. Richard A. Carlino, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Tonight (Thursday) from 5 to 7 pm
Memorial contributions may be made in Peter's memory to Community Hospice.
