SCHENECTADY – Teresa C. Murphy, 95, of Holland Road, entered peacefully into eternal rest on Thursday morning.
Teresa was born in Schenectady on February 9, 1921 a daughter of the late Carmello and Venera (Conte) DeFrancesco. She was a 1939 graduate of Nott Terrace High School. Teresa waitressed for many years at The Niskayuna Club in Niskayuna. Teresa kept her family and friends close to her heart and greatly enjoyed the time she was able to spend with them. Above all Teresa was a devoted homemaker and was greatly loved by her family. She was a communicant of the former St. John the Baptist Church.
A special Thank you to the staff at Capital Living on Altamont Avenue, for their thoughtful and wonderful care they gave to Teresa.
Teresa was predeceased by her beloved husband, John 'Sarge' Murphy, Sr. in 2007 after 65 years of marriage and her treasured daughter, Sandra Paolino, in 2009; siblings, John DeFrancesco, Joseph DeFrancesco and Mary DeVivo.
She is survived by her loving son, John 'Sarge' Murphy and his wife Carol; devoted son-in-law, John Paolino, all of Rotterdam; grandchildren, Shawn (Laura) Paolino, Michael (Stacy) Paolino, Killeen (Dennis) Cirilla, John (Janice) Runfolo; great-grandchildren, Julia, Mia, Jacob and Luke Paolino, Ashley, Dennis, Gianna, Sandra and Alex Cirilla, John Robert and Angelina Runfolo; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Monday at 11am at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home, 501 Union St. with Fr. Richard Carlino, officiating. Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Rossi & Ditoro Funeral Home on Sunday from 3 to 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice or to a charity of one's choice.
